Origins of the Sign:
In the Babylonian Zodiac Pisces was known as the Constellation of The Tails. This consisted of the goddess Anunitiam and the goddess Simnah. One goddess represented the river Tigris and the ohter the river Euphrates.
Zodiac Character:
The most self destructive trait of Pisceans is fatalism. They tell themselves that the future is mapped out and there is nothing they can do to change it. This leads to complete lack of action on their part. It does however achieve one bonus for them. It prevents them from facing up to the reality of situations which Pisceans find extremely difficult. They love to hide their heads in the sand. Family is very important to Pisceans. They pour all their emotions into romantic relationships which can be a little overwhelming for their partner.

Once a subject of the two fish has decided on a partner he or she tends to become over emotional. The intensity of a Piscean's love can be slightly overwhelming for the recipient and the pedestal on which Pisceans place their lovers can seem unrealistic to those teetering aloft on them. Pisceans idolise their partners until the object of their affection does something so outrageous that it becomes impossible to keep up the pretence of perfection. The overcharged hot house of a Piscean's love can also lead to outbursts of fury at real or imagined slights from the loved one. Storming out of restaurants or parties is a real Piscean forte.
Food:
Pisces tend to be fussy eaters and their great sensitivity can lead to them shunning certain foods. Occasionally they give up meat and become vegetarians or they will decide that chocolate or cheese gives them migraines and stop eating those as well. Sometimes, however, this tendency to sudden change can lead to them eating indiscriminately from a wide range of foods. Trout, salmon and tuna, fruits, sugar and artichoke are all ruled by Pisces as is alcohol. So an ideal dish for a Piscean would be trout in a white wine sauce served with artichoke.
Home:
Someone born under the sign of the two fish would ideally always try to live near water, preferably in a house with views over water. An old canal cottage or a house boat would both be ideal Piscean homes. The Piscean decor is artistic and highly unusual. Pisceans like exotic hangings and silk cushions in oriental silks in rich designs. Unfortunately their strong desire to create a peaceful and harmonious home can be thwarted by their ability to live in chaos and their inability to do anything about it.
