Ehwaz - Rune Number 19
Original meaning: This Rune is associated with the idea of two forces working in harmony. It thus represents twin gods and pairs of horses. It is also associated with Sleipuir the eight legged horse belonging to Odin and with the horse known as "The Fetch" which carried souls to the next world. As with cattle in ancient times, horses were very valuable possessions.
