Tiwaz - Rune Number 17
Original meaning: Tiwaz is the name of Tyr the god of victory. Tyr's Helm is a name for wolfbane which was used as a poison on arrow heads. Tiwaz is associated with the Pole Star and its guiding force which may have also served to guide the soul of warriors to Valhalla. It was said that they carved this Rune into their own flesh.
Interpretation: Judgement. Legal matters. Strength of purpose. Determination to overcome and turn the odds in your favour. The Rune of the warrior. Safe keeping.
Reversed: Cowardice. Weakness and defeatism. Rigid nature and refusal to listen to good advice. A dishonest man in a romantic situation.
