The Five of Pentacles in The Minor Arcana
The Five of Pentacles shows a snowy scene outside a church. Light shines through a stained glass window showing up five Pentacles. Outside, beneath the window, in the snow are two impoverished figures; a bare-footed woman wearing inadequate rags and a younger looking person on crutches.
When the Five of Pentacles turns up in a reading it suggests a lack or loss. This can refer to money, possessions or company. The querent should reflect and make sure that he or she is being careful enough about their financial affairs and that they are not neglecting personal relationships.
The querent should also be aware that the Five of Pentacles gives hope. Help and support are at hand.
Summary: Poverty knocks.
