The Four of Pentacles in The Minor Arcana
The picture in the Four of Pentacles shows what appears to be a small man wearing rich, fur-trimmed robes. Is he small or is he sitting on a grey stone seat? He wears a crown with a Pentacle resting on it and holds a Pentacle in his hands. His hands and arms form a shape reminiscent of the symbol of life in the Four of Pentacles. The man's feet are resting on the other Four Pentacles.
The scene in the background is of a city with tall towers almost like skyscrapers.
When the Four of Pentacles appears in a reading it stands for someone who is too concerned with holding on to his or her possessions. This person could be the querent or someone who features in their life. The card suggests that this hoarding mentality is not a healthy one and it can apply to jealous possessiveness in a relationship and meanness of spirit.
Quite often it is the case that we lose and destroy that which we seek to possess with too much control.
Summary: Summary: Lighten up, Scrooge!
