The Seven of Cups in The Minor Arcana

In the foreground of the Seven of Cups there is a shadowy figure of a man. He seems to be looking in wonder at the seven cups in front of him. The cups are standing on banks of clouds and each one contains something exotic and bizarre; a woman's head, jewellery, a serpent, a castle, a laurel wreath and a figure covered in a white cloth with a strange red fringe.

The Seven of Cups indicates the sort of chaos that comes from a lack of structure. The cups overflow with things that look both alluring and repulsive - they seem to represent endless choice, surprising and confusing the man who is confronted by them.

There is no order or uniformity in the seven cups - their content is just a disordered muddle.

The querent, when confronted with this card, needs to examine his or her life in relation to order. If there is too much routine and structure maybe it should be relaxed a little. If there is chaos, then perhaps more tidiness should be imposed.

Too much daydreaming about fairy gold or winning the lottery will not achieve anything. Only hard work and preparation will do that.

Summary: Stop thinking. Start doing!
